Introduction

Ajahn Chah was born on June 17, 1918, in a small village in Ubon Ratchathani, northeastern Thailand. From a young age, he expressed a strong inclination toward spiritual pursuits, which resulted in him ordaining as a monk. Throughout his life, Ajahn Chah’s compassionate guidance and teachings left an enduring impact on the lives of his students and the broader Buddhist community. He became known for his direct and practical approach, emphasising the cultivation of mindfulness and insight in everyday life.
